The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 44-year-old Joseph Chiarella, who has reported a move to the Heritage Hills condominium complex in Somers.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Chiarella as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Chiarella sexually abused a minor in September 2012 and was convicted of first-degree child molestation in February 2014. Chiarella was sentenced to six years in prison and is now under the jurisdiction of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
